Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), a joint venture (JV) of Tata Power and the Government of Delhi, has commissioned its maiden 66kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) sub-station at Prashant Vihar, Rohini. The new sub-station has two power transformers of 25 MVA each which will cater to the demand of surrounding areas and it will receive power from LILO of existing 66kV line from Pitampura-I to RG-3.
Constructed in plot area of 540 square meters, which is only 10 percent of area required for conventional sub-station of same capacity, the new 66 / 11kV sub-station has been commissioned in a record time of nine months. It will benefit over 50,000 consumers in Rohini including institutional, domestic and commercial of sector 9, 13 and 14 among others.
