Tata Motors saw a 58-per cent growth in sales in February due to the revival in the commercial vehicles market and its expanding passenger car portfolio. The company registered vehicle sales at 69,427 units, up from 43,811 units last February. It has sold 5.67 lakh units so far this fiscal, registering a growth of 28 per cent over the same year-ago period.
Its commercial vehicle sales grew 67 per cent to 39,205 units. Light commercial vehicle sales grew 49 per cent to 21,746 while medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales almost doubled to 17,441.
The passenger vehicles business unit reported a 42 per cent growth at 26,985 units. The company despatched 4,105 units of Nano last month. The Indica and Indigo range of cars clocked sales 11,502 and 7,373 units respectively while Sumo recorded sales of 4005 units.
