Indian Hotels Company to open 15 new hotels in FY16

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) is planning to open 15 new hotels and add nearly three times as many rooms to its portfolio in the current fiscal. This will take the total count at the country's largest hotel chain, which owns the Taj Group of Hotels & Resorts, to 17,492 rooms across 146 properties under Taj, Vivanta by Taj, Gateway and Ginger brands.

The chain has signed management contracts for a Taj hotel with Bangalore International Airport and three Gateway hotels at Zirakpur, Dehradun and Wayanad. Other hotels to open this year include Taj hotel at Santacruz, Mumbai, and at BIAL, Bengaluru; two Vivanta by Taj hotels at Guwahati and Amritsar; two Gateway hotels at Hinjewadi and Pune, and a resort at Jim Corbett National Park.

IHCL and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces and recognized as one of Asia's largest and finest hotel company. It operates in the luxury, premium, mid-market and value segments of the market.
