Gujarat Organics reports 27.87% rise in Q3 net profit

Gujarat Organics has reported results (standalone) for third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a rise of 27.87% in its net profit at Rs 2.34 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 1.83 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 0.98% at Rs 10.34 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 10.24 crore in the same quarter of 2010.

Gujarat Organics manufactures para hydroxy benzoic acid (PHBA) and its derivatives, namely parabens. Parabens are widely used as preservatives in cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical products. The company’s plant is in Ankaleshwar (Gujarat). It also has an in-house research and development unit, recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
