Asian Paints trades in green on the BSE

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs. 3088.00, up by 23.50 points or 0.77% from its previous closing of Rs. 3064.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3053.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3113.50 and Rs. 3035.20 respectively. So far 8616 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3365.95 on 04-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2395.05 on 25-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3113.50 and Rs. 3028.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29639.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.58% and 20.63% respectively.

Asian Paints’ plant located at Rohtak in Haryana has carried out a planned shutdown from February 16, 2012 to March 15, 2012 during which the company is expanding the plant to 2,00,000 KL per annum.

During the shutdown, new equipment will be commissioned and integrated with the existing systems. Further, this shutdown will not affect the business of the company as adequate build up of inventory has been made to cater to the expected demand.

Asian Paints manufactures paints in the category of Decorative, Automative and Industrial segment. Apart from these the company also manufactures various Accessories like, Wall Primar, Wood Primer, Putty and Stainers etc.
