Relaxo Footwears soars on settling ongoing protracted litigations with Bata India

Relaxo Footwears is currently trading at Rs. 579.00, up by 16.75 points or 2.98% from its previous closing of Rs. 562.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 573.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 599.50 and Rs. 573.05 respectively. So far 3874 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 614.55 on 27-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 185.35 on 18-Aug-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 614.55 and Rs. 527.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6910.89 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 3.76% and 21.24% respectively.

Relaxo Footwears has amicably settled the on-going protracted litigation with Bata India in respect of trademark ‘SPARX’. The company has executed a deed of settlement with Bata India for assignment of trademark ‘SPARX’ in favour of Relaxo Footwears and both companies have agreed to file necessary consent terms before the Delhi High Court in due course, for withdrawal/settlement of all pending litigations filed by/against Bata India and the company.

The benefit on account of this assignment of trademark along with saving in cost of litigation is considered to be materially beneficial to the company in long term.
