Auto major Tata Motors’ June sales (including export) have witnessed a marginal fall of 1% at 66,358. Domestic sales of the company for reporting month stood at 61,264 units, down 2% over 62,602 units in the year ago period. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 1,87,946 units, a growth of 4% over 1,80,210 units sold last year.

Commercial vehicles’ segment registered a growth of 13% during the month of June 2011 in the domestic market at 39,271 vehicles against 34,791 vehicles sold in June last year. On the other hand, the passenger vehicles’ segment witnessed about 2% decline in the domestic sales in the last month at 23,499 (21,993 Tata + 1,506 Fiat) units compared to 29,948 (2,7811 Tata + 2,137 Fiat) units in the same month of 2010.

Sales from exports grew by 21% in June 2011 to 5,094 vehicles from 4,222 vehicles in June 2010.

The company’s net profit for the year ended March 31, 2011 dropped by 19.11% to Rs 1811.82 crore as compared to Rs 2240.08 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010. Its total income increased by 28.78% to Rs 48223.72 crore for the year from Rs 37446.50 crore for the previous year.
