Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has implemented geographical information system (GIS) in Mumbai in past which provides a comprehensive view of the company’s network elements with geographic advantage. The company has now integrated GIS with other enterprise systems such as SAP, Electronic Land Record Managements System (eLRMS), Network Planning System, Distribution Management System (DMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The integration augments work flow management, automated updation of data, synchronization and tracking of equipment/asset information.
