07 Aug 2015 Evaluate

Maruti Suzuki, India's biggest car maker, is reportedly planning to sell 4,000-5000 units of its maiden crossover SUV, the S-Cross, every month.  The all diesel S-Cross comes in seven variants - four in the 1.2 litre DDiS 200 model and three models in the upper class 1.6 litre DDiS 320 model. The company has no plans to roll out neither a petrol variant nor an automatic transmission model.

Meanwhile, the company is also planning to have 100 exclusive NEXA showrooms across the country by the end of this financial year. NEXA marks the first initiative by an automobile company to go beyond selling cars and create a new format of retail experience for the customer. The company has consistently led the industry in terms of reach, depth and quality of sales and service network. Currently, the company has 35 NEXA Premium showrooms operational in different cities.

Maruti Suzuki had registered a rise of 1.8% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of June 2015 at 1,14,756 units, as against 1,12,773 units in June 2014. The company’s domestic sales rose by 1.6% in June 2015 at 1,02,626 units, as against 1,00,964 units in corresponding month last year.
