Bajaj Hindusthan to add 400 MW worth Rs 1,600 crore

Bajaj Hindusthan, the country's leading sugar producer, has decided to take its power generation capacity to 830 MW by adding another 400 MW of newer capacities. The power expansion project will cost Rs 1,600 crore and is likely to be completed within 20 months.

 

The decision in this regard was taken in the company's board meeting. As a part of the power expansion, the company will be setting up five new coal-based power plants of 80 MW capacity each at five locations on the land adjacent to its existing sugar factories. At present the company's overall power capacity stands at 430 MW.
