Amara Raja Batteries gains on reporting 15% rise in Q1 net profit

Amara Raja Batteries is currently trading at Rs 951.50, up by 13.95 points or 1.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 937.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 949.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 973.20 and Rs. 929.55 respectively. So far 68049 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 994.80 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 527.05 on 14-Aug-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 985.20 and Rs. 902.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16316.01 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.01% and 19.93% respectively.

Amara Raja Batteries has reported 15.22% rise in its net profit at Rs 122.09 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 105.96 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 11.18% to Rs 1150.59 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1034.91 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Amara Raja Batteries is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. It was founded in 1985. ARBL was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
