Andhra Bank plans to enhance total business in Kerala

Andhra Bank is planning to enhance its total business in Kerala to Rs 5000 crore in the next three years. In this regard, the bank is expanding its activities and aiming to open 75 branches in the state by the end of three years. The focus will be on retail loans particularly in the SME sector. Of the total credit exposure in the state, 50% is for SMEs currently. The bank has been able to reduce the gross NPA ratio to 1.94 by the end of June, 2015 from 3.45 in a year in Kerala.

The bank reported 89.27% rise in its net profit at Rs 202.52 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 107.00 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 7.71% at Rs 4529.23 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4205.06 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.
