Vedanta trades higher on the bourses

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 103.55, up by 0.70 points or 0.68% from its previous closing of Rs. 102.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 102.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 105.10 and Rs. 101.05 respectively. So far 355866 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 305.30 on 19-Aug-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 99.50 on 13-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 116.50 and Rs. 99.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 30847.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 59.52% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.07% and 9.89% respectively.

Vedanta is planning to issue non-convertible debentures (NCD) worth Rs 2,000 crore. The issuance of NCDs is part of the overall debt refinancing of the company to substitute short-term liabilities and/or to retire higher cost debt. The NCDs are proposed to be listed on BSE.

For the quarter ended June 2015, Vedanta's gross debt rose Rs 1,778 crore to Rs 79,530 crore on account of funding project payments and temporary working capital requirements, adding that debt levels are expected to come down as working capital is repaid in Q2 of 2015-16.

Out of the total debt of Rs 79,530 crore, debt in Indian currency is Rs. 38,616 crore and the balance Rs 40,914 crore in US dollars.
