Jain Irrigation Systems features in Fortune’s ‘Change of the World’ list

Jain Irrigation Systems, India-based micro-irrigation firm, has been named in Fortune magazine’s inaugural ‘Change the World’ list of companies making significant progress in addressing major social problems as a part of their core business strategy.

The company has been ranked 7th on the list of 50 companies on Fortune’s new ‘Change the World list’ that has been topped by UK-based Vodafone and Kenyan telecom Safaricom and includes Bangladesh-based Grameen Bank and Afghan telecom company Roshan.

Jain Irrigation Systems is a manufacturer of a wide variety of PVC pipes, PE pipes, water and gas transportation pipes, ducts for optical fibre cables and drip irrigation pipes. It is also engaged in tissue culture of bananas and pomegranates and is the world’s largest processor of mangoes and is the world’s second largest processor of onions and vegetables.
