Power Grid spurts on plan to raise up to Rs 14,000 crore

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 131.90, up by 1.05 points or 0.80 % from its previous closing of Rs. 130.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 132.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 132.55 and Rs. 131.40 respectively. So far 12212 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 159.00 on 28-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 125.40 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 136.45 and Rs. 125.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 68455.35 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90 %, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.74 % and 7.36 % respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) will seek shareholders’ approval next month to raise up to Rs 14,000 crore from domestic and external sources during the fiscal 2016-17. The funds will be raised from domestic as well as external sources through issuance of tax-free bonds under private placement in 2016-17. The shareholders’ nod would also be sought for enhancing borrowing limits from Rs 1.3 lakh crore to Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Power Grid Corporation of India is India’s principal electric power transmission company. It owns and operates most of India’s interstate and inter-regional electric power transmission systems.
