Tata Power rises as it starts building Rs 450 crore-defence production unit in Karnataka

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 59.60, up by 0.45 points or 0.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 59.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 59.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.00 and Rs. 58.40 respectively. So far 153406 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 94.90 on 05-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 55.55 on 07-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.35 and Rs. 55.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16092.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.17% and 15.66% respectively.

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has begun building its Rs 450 crore-defence production unit in the state of Karnataka. The Chief Minister laid down the foundation stone for the 50-acre Vemagal facility to create a state-of-the-art integrated digital design-to-manufacturing facility for large systems engineering and integration. The investment is also in line with the company’s commitment towards ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Tata Power is India’s largest integrated power company with a growing international presence. The company together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities has an installed gross generation capacity of 8,669 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector.
