L&T rises as its arm bags orders worth Rs 1376 crore

Larsen & Toubro is currently trading at Rs. 1457.00, up by 8.75 points or 0.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 1448.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1460.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1466.00 and Rs. 1449.00 respectively. So far 122005 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1892.95 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1400.00 on 08-Oct-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1489.00 and Rs. 1413.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 135271.72 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 55.68% and 41.93% respectively.

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) subsidiary -- L&T Construction's Power Transmission & Distribution Business has won orders worth Rs 1376 crore in both the domestic and international markets in September 2015.

In the domestic market, the Solar Business has bagged multiple orders from a reputed solar power developer for the engineering, procurement and construction of 115 MWp solar installations in the southern part of the country. Upon completion, the total installed capacity of solar plants by the company would be 643 MWp, one of the highest executed by an Indian EPC company.

The Business has also received an order from West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company for engineering, procurement and construction of 132 kV double circuit transmission lines in various districts of West Bengal.

In the international market, the business has made a strategic breakthrough in Malawi, Africa, by bagging an order for the construction of two 400/132kV substations on EPC basis. Another order has been bagged in the Middle East for engineering, procurement and construction of a 220kV substation from a reputed customer.

The Power Transmission a Distribution business is a leading EPC player in the field of MD business offering integrated solutions and end to end services ranging from design, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of transmission lines, underground cable networks (both power and control), substations, distribution networks, electrical and instrumentation works for power, process and infrastructure projects, in both domestic and international markets. On the renewable energy side, the business provides turnkey EPC services for projects on photovoltaic and concentrated solar power plants.
