Bajaj Auto reports 4% fall in September sales

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer, has registered fall of 4% in total sales to 384,400 units in September 2015 against 399,450 units in September 2014. The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 5% and stood at 330,228 units in the month under review against 347,010 units in September 2014. However, the company has reported 3% rise in Commercial Vehicles sales, which stood at 54,172 units as compared to 52,440 units in month of September 2014. Meanwhile, the company’s total exports out of the above stood at 173,801 units as compared to 174,211 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
