Adani Power is in talks with Welspun Group for buying two ready-to-build coal-fired power plants for Rs 400 crore.
These two plants are situated in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and have all the necessary clearances and can generate about 4,000 megawatts (MW), the newspaper reported, adding that the plants will be transferred to the Adani Group by December.
Adani Power is engaged in the business of generation, accumulation, distribution and supply of power and to generally deal in electricity and to explore, develop, generate, accumulate, supply and distribute or to deal in other forms of energy from any source whatsoever.
