Jain Irrigation has bagged Balh Valley Medium Irrigation Project in Himachal Pradesh. The total value of the project is Rs 65 crore. The Department of Irrigation and Public Health has selected the company through global competitive bidding.

The integrated project, which is part of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) in Balh Valley, involves survey, investigation, planning, designing, supply and execution. The project would be a major breakthrough in adoption of modern irrigation network/systems in the command areas.

The project was originally a traditional canal command project, which was redesigned into micro irrigation-based Pressurized Water Distribution Network Systems by Jain Irrigation. Under the project, water is to be brought to the fields from offtake point of BBMB main canal using modern irrigation network/methods and then irrigate more than 3,000 farmers’ fields with micro irrigation systems.
