Aptech in JV with Brazil's Falgo group

IT training solutions provider, Aptech Ltd, has entered into a 51:49 joint venture with the Falgo group to set up IT Training centres in Brazil. Brazil will be Aptech's hub for the LatAm region. The investment in the Brazilian venture is pegged at USD one million. The company aims to have around 100 centres in LatAm in the next three to four years. After Brazil, the company plans to enter Mexico and Chile, which are also the important markets on the radar of Aptech. After LatAm, the company is eyeing West Africa where it is planning a foray in the next two-years.

The first centre in Brazil will be set up by August and the company plans to enhance its network in that country to around 50 in the next three years. Aptech presently has its education centres in Mexico, El Salvador and Peru. The company will be offering content in local languages in these countries. Aptech's courses in Brazil would be in line with the Brazilian university programmes. Brazil is the largest IT market representing more than 45 per cent of total investments for the sector in the region.

Besides, the Brazilian Government is expected to sign an agreement with reputed institutes to train 10,000 IT programmers in 2009. Aptech is present in over 35 countries globally with a large presence in China (200 centres), Vietnam (30), Russia (20) and Nigeria (15). In India, it has around 450 centres which it plans to scale up to around 550 centres over the next three years.
