Maruti Suzuki raises wages of temporary workers by 10%

Maruti Suzuki India has increased wages of temporary workers of its Gurgaon and Manesar plants, including those of Suzuki Powertrain, by an average 10 per cent a month. The increase is effective from April 2015 onwards and arrears have been paid to the temporary workmen along with last month’s salary.

Before the hike, the temporary workers had an average monthly salary of Rs 15,000 to Rs 16,000. Maruti Suzuki has a total of around 4,000 temporary workers at its plants at Gurgaon and Manesar, including that of Suzuki Powertrain.
