Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of A Star, which was launched in November 2008, by Rs 10,000 per car. Similarly, it has increased Swift Petrol LXi prices by Rs 5,000 and Swift VXi, ZXi variants and all variants of Swift Diesel by Rs 6,000. Likewise, all the variants in petrol and diesel of Swift Dzire will cost Rs 7,000 more while that of SX4 sedan prices are hiked by Rs 9,000.
But Maruti Suzuki said that there will be no change in the prices of Maruti 800, Omni, Alto, WagonR, Zen Estilo, Gypsy, Versa and Grand Vitara. The above price hike has come into effect from yesterday, the 27th January 2009. Maruti indicated that the above price hikes were necessitated due to increase in input costs and foreign currency changes.
