PTC India surges on reporting 4% rise in Q2 net profit

PTC India is currently trading at Rs. 65.35, up by 1.00 points or 1.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 64.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 66.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 66.25 and Rs. 64.85 respectively. So far 109455 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 104.75 on 18-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 50.20 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 66.30 and Rs. 62.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1943.29 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 16.22% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 57.75% and 26.03% respectively.

The company has reported 4.45% rise in its net profit at Rs 100.60 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 96.31 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, the company’s total income has decreased by 16.13% to Rs 3569.88 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 4256.46 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

PTC India acts as intermediary between buyer and sellers of power. In case of cross-border trading, the company plays the role of a nodal agency. It offers advisory services for setting up independent power producing plants.
