Canara Bank rises despite reporting 16% fall in Q2 net profit

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 273.25, up by 3.25 points or 1.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 270.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 270.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 273.65 and Rs. 268.90 respectively. So far 5341 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 478.40 on 28-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 250.85 on 04-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 284.00 and Rs. 268.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14660.76 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.00 % and 6.71 % respectively.

The bank has reported 15.63% fall in its net profit at Rs 528.86 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 626.84 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank has increased by 4.72% at Rs 12477.95 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 11915.21 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014.

The bank’s gross NPA for the July - September quarter of the current fiscal increased to 4.27%, as compared to 2.92% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 2.90% in Q2FY16.
