Andhra Bank rises on the buzz of plan to sell Rs 1388 crore worth bad loans to ARCs

Andhra Bank is currently trading at Rs. 67.75, up by 1.20 points or 1.80 % from its previous closing of Rs. 66.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 66.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 68.05 and Rs. 65.70 respectively. So far 220741 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 101.00 on 01-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 59.35 on 10-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 68.05 and Rs. 64.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4409.62 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.97% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.62% and 15.41% respectively.Public sector lender, Andhra Bank is reportedly planning to sell bad loans worth about Rs 1388 crore ($209 million) to asset reconstruction companies (ARCs). The bad loans are in 29 accounts.

Recently, the Bank has reported 73.89% rise in its net profit at Rs 251.26 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 144.49 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The bank’s gross NPAs have improved to 5.71% for the quarter as against 5.99% in the same quarter previous year.
