Kingfisher Airlines finds alternate measures for booking

09 Mar 2012 Evaluate

As a result of the recent suspension of Kingfisher Airlines from IATA’s ICH and BSP platforms, Kingfisher Airlines has made alternate arrangements to ensure that the customers can continue to book their travel on Kingfisher, via select leading travel agents and their network of partners. Besides, passengers can continue to book and purchase tickets via Kingfisher website and through its ticketing offices across the country and at international locations, as also at its call centers.

On March 7, IATA had suspended the beleaguered Kingfisher Airlines for not clearing its dues. This was the second time in just over a month that the airline was suspended on the same count from the IATA Clearing House (ICH) through which airlines and related firms settle accounts for services provided by them to other such companies.

Kingfisher Airlines reported a net loss of Rs 444.27 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, against net loss of Rs 253.69 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal. Total income declined by 19.07% to Rs 1342.33 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 1658.70 crore in the year-ago period.
