CESC strengthens on reporting marginal rise in Q2 net profit

CESC is currently trading at Rs. 535.75, up by 7.05 points or 1.33% from its previous closing of Rs 528.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 523.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 541.80 and Rs 515.50 respectively. So far 50828 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 765.05 on 17-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 452.00 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 558.20 and Rs. 515.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6938.70 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.92% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.41% and 10.63% respectively.

CESC has reported 1.56% rise in its net profit at Rs 195 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 192 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 7.09% to Rs 1797 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1678 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

CESC is engaged in power generation and distribution in state of West Bengal. CESC is a fully integrated power utility with its operation spanning the entire value chain: right from mining coal, generating power, distribution of power.
