Tata Motors, which makes cars, utility vehicles and commercial vehicles, has reported a 20 per cent decline to 39,729 units in October against the sales figures for the same month last year. Among the various segments, commercial vehicle sales of the company declined 29 per cent in the domestic market at 19,154 units.

Medium and heavy commercial vehicles sales stood at 7,321 units, a decline of 48 per cent over October 2007, while LCV sales were 11,833 units, a decline of 10 per cent over October 2007. Tata Motors, which mainly exports trucks, showed a decline of 16 per cent at 3,561 units (4,230)
