ICICI Bank, India’s largest private sector bank, has organized Coin Exchange Mela at seven cities in Rajasthan, under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). These Coin Exchange Melas were organised to offer free facilities of exchanging currency notes with coins or currency notes to the general public.
The coin mela saw participation of around 1000 people, where they exchanged coins worth Rs. 8 lakhs in the denomination of Rs 10, Rs 5, Rs 2 and Re 1. The Bank exchanged fresh currency worth Rs. 3.5 crores at these places in denominations of Rs 1000, Rs 500, Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 20 and Rs 10.
