Canara Bank rises on plan to raise Rs 2400 crore through Private Placement

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 270.95, up by 0.85 points or 0.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 270.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 271.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 272.10 and Rs. 265.80 respectively. So far 134240 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 478.40 on 28-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 250.85 on 04-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 284.45 and Rs. 265.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14712.34 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.00% and 6.71% respectively.

Canara Bank has received an approval to raise additional capital of Rs 2400 crore through issue of BASEL-III compliant Tier II Bonds by way of Private Placement at a Coupon Rate as decided by the Bond Committee of the Bank to support the asset growth during 2015-16 & also to maintain healthy level of CRAR. The Bond Committee during the course of its meeting held on November 17, 2015, has approved for the same.

Canara bank has reported 40.65% fall in its net profit at Rs 478.84 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 806.86 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank has increased by 4.47% at Rs 12252.64 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 11728.01 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.
