REC rises as its arm incorporates 3 transmission SPVs as subsidiaries

Rural Electrification Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 233.00, up by 2.00 points or 0.87% from its previous closing of Rs. 231.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 230.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 233.25 and Rs. 230.15 respectively. So far 62095 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 371.05 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 211.40 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 237.40 and Rs. 228.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 22909.05 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.64% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.61% and 5.75% respectively.

REC Transmission Projects, subsidiary of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has incorporated three project specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) as its subsidiaries.

The three SPVs are -- North Karanpura Transco, Khargone Transmission and Dinchang Transmission.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
