Dena Bank signs MoU with SBI Life Insurance Company

Dena Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBI Life Insurance Company to provide Group Life Insurance coverage to its housing loan borrowers under the 'Dena Grihaswami Suraksha Yojana'.

Under the MoU, insurance cover will be given to all housing loan borrowers at a very low premium. Among other features, the insurance cover is limited to outstanding loan amount. In case of death of the borrower during the term of cover, outstanding loan is set off against the policy proceeds settled by SBI Life Insurance.

The bank reported 24.85% fall in its net profit at Rs 38.76 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 51.58 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The bank’s total income decreased by 0.46% to Rs 2872.08 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 2885.22 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
