Power Grid’s arm completes Khammam-Nagarjunasagar transmission line

Power Grid Corporation of India’s (PGCIL) wholly-owned subsidiary has successfully completed the Khammam-Nagarjunasagar transmission line which would facilitate inter-state exchange of power in southern region.

Powergrid Vizag Transmission has secured tariff based competitive bidding process, successfully charged the first element of the project: Khammam -Nagarjunasagar 400kV D/C Transmission line on December 31, 2015, within the completion schedule specified.

The transmission line of about 150 km traverses the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and will facilitate inter-state exchange of power in southern region

Power Grid Corporation of India is an Indian state-owned electric utilities company headquartered in Gurgaon, India. Power Grid transmits about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network.
