SBI rises on the buzz of selling Kohinoor arm's loans to Edelweiss ARC

SBI is currently trading at Rs. 219.45, up by 1.20 points or 0.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 218.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 218.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 219.90 and Rs. 217.05 respectively. So far 823560 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 335.90 on 28-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 217.05 on 05-Jan-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 228.90 and Rs. 217.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 170004.82 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.18% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.73% and 9.09% respectively.

State Bank of India (SBI) along with its associate bank State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has reportedly sold loans extended to a unit of Kohinoor Group, as the company is struggling to repay its liabilities primarily due to a slowdown in the real estate business.

The two banks sold close to Rs 250 crore worth of loans given to Kohinoor CTNL Infrastructure to Edelweiss Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC). Kohinoor CTNL Infrastructure is a special purpose vehicle owned by the Kohinoor Group.
