Aurobindo’s hypertension drug gets USFDA nod

Aurobindo Pharma has received final approval from the US health regulator to market and manufacture Ramipril Capsules, used for treating hypertension, in the American market. The company has received approval from the USFDA for Ramipril Capsules in strengths of 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg. The product has a market size of approximately USD 95 million for the twelve months ending September 2010 according to IMS and will be launched soon.  Ramipril Capsules, which are the generic equivalent of King Pharmaceuticals Altace, are indicated for the treatment of hypertension and falls under the cardiovascular therapeutic segment.crackcrack
