Bank of India gains on purchasing 49% stake in ‘BOI Shareholding’

Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 94.20, up by 0.15 points or 0.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 94.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 95.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 95.80 and Rs. 90.90 respectively. So far 637480 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 306.00 on 21-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 90.90 on 18-Jan-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 110.00 and Rs. 90.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7,443.98 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.13% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.08% and 8.79% respectively.

Bank of India has purchased the 49% stake in ‘BOI Shareholding’ from BSE pursuant to which BOI Shareholding has become wholly owned subsidiary of the bank. Prior to the transaction, Bank of India and BSE were holding 51% and 49% stake in BOI Shareholding respectively.

Bank of India has reported a net loss of Rs 1126.24 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to net profit of Rs 786 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income of the bank has decreased by 6.46% at Rs 11317.97 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 12099.45 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of the bank have increased to 7.55% for the quarter as against 3.54% in the same quarter previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 4.31% in Q2FY16.
