Eicher Motors surges as its motorcycle division reports 65% jump in total sales in January

Eicher Motors is currently trading at Rs. 16866.15, up by 319.40 points or 1.93% from its previous closing of Rs. 16546.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 16705.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 16990.00 and Rs. 16607.15 respectively. So far 3693 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 21618.30 on 21-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 13930.00 on 27-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 16990.00 and Rs. 15860.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 45998.61 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.88% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.49% and 13.62% respectively.

Eicher Motors’ motorcycle division has reported a 65% jump in total sales in January 2016 at 47,710 units, as against 28927 units in the same month last year. During January 2016, the number of motorcycle units exported, decreased by 26% to 570 units from 770 units in January 2015.

The company’s sales of vehicles with engine capacity up to 350 cc increased by 71% at 44234 units in January 2016 against 25799 units in the same period a year ago, while the sales of its vehicles with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc increased by 11% at 3476 units as against 3128 units in January last year.
