Bajaj Auto reports 2% rise in January sales

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered rise of 2% in total sales to 2,93,939 units in January 2016 against 2,88,746 units in January 2015. The sales of the motorcycles increased by 2% and stood at 252,988 units in the month under review against 246,955 units in January 2015. However, the company has reported 2% fall in Commercial Vehicles sales, which stood at 40,951 units as compared to 41,791 units in month of January 2015. The company’s total exports out of the total sales stood at 1,32,069 units, a drop of 8% as compared to 142,992 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
