Bajaj Auto spurts on reporting 2% rise in January sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs 2358.30, up by 30.20 points or 1.30% from its previous closing of Rs 2328.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 2322.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs 2362.15 and Rs. 2300.00 respectively. So far 9470 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2655.00 on 23-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1913.80 on 30-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 2380.00 and Rs 2250.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 68232.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.30% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.04% and 24.66% respectively.

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered rise of 2% in total sales to 2,93,939 units in January 2016 against 2,88,746 units in January 2015. The sales of the motorcycles increased by 2% and stood at 252,988 units in the month under review against 246,955 units in January 2015. However, the company has reported 2% fall in Commercial Vehicles sales, which stood at 40,951 units as compared to 41,791 units in month of January 2015. The company’s total exports out of the total sales stood at 1,32,069 units, a drop of 8% as compared to 142,992 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
