With reference to the order dated November 17, 2015 of Competition Commission of India (‘CCI’) imposing penalties on various airlines, including SpiceJet (the ‘Company’) for alleged concerted action in relation to cargo fuel surcharge. In this regard, Spicejet has now informed that the Company preferred an appeal before the Competition Appellate Tribunal (‘COMPAT’) against the order of CCI and the matter was listed before the COMPAT on February 09, 2016. After hearing the appeal and the stay application(s) of appellants, the COMPAT vide its order dated February 09, 2016 has stayed the operation of the CCI order and has issued notice to the CCI for filing its reply.
