SBI surges on raising Rs 3,000 crore on private placement basis

State Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 164.40, up by 4.85 points or 3.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 159.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 158.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 165.00 and Rs. 157.00 respectively. So far 2408261 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 315.80 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 148.30 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 171.00 and Rs. 151.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 127503.61 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.37% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.12% and 9.51% respectively.

State Bank of India has issued 30,000, Basel III compliant, Tier-II bonds in the nature of debentures, of face value of Rs 10,00,000 each at par, with 10 year tenure, bearing 8.45% per annum coupon and with call option after 5 years, aggregating to Rs 3,000 crore on private placement basis.

The nation’s top lender by assets reported a 61.67 percent year-on-year fall in its standalone net profit figures at Rs 1,115.34 crore for the quarter ended December 2015. The bank earned Rs 2,910 .06 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Consolidated net profit of the bank fell 67 percent year-on-year at Rs 1,259.49 crore during October-December 2015 period against Rs 3828.20 crore in the same quarter last year.
