TVS Motor Company crossed sales of 200,000 units with total sales touching 219,369 units in September 2011, a growth of 17 per cent compared to 188,005 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. The company’s cumulative sales for the period April to September 2011 grew 15 per cent to 1.14 million units from 988,794 units a year ago. Two-wheeler sales grew 17 per cent with sales of 215,690 units in September 2011 in comparison with 184,783 units recorded in September 2010. Scooter sales increased 30 per cent with sales of 55,879 units (43,086 in September 2010), while motorcycles grew 12 per cent to 90,848 units (81,381). Domestic two-wheeler sales were up 16 per cent with sales of 192,027 units in September 2011 against 165,418 units reported in September 2010. Exports grew 27 per cent registering total sales of 25,973 units (20,487). TVS's three-wheeler sales grew 14 per cent with sales of 3,679 units (3,222) while cumulative three-wheeler sales for April to September 2011 stood at 23,106 units.
