Power Grid advances on the buzz to establish aluminium conductor unit in Odisha

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 139.95, up by 2.80 points or 2.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 137.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 137.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 141.00 and Rs. 137.15 respectively. So far 32585 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 159.00 on 28-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 120.75 on 10-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 142.00 and Rs. 136.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 73085.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.82% and 7.29% respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India’s (PGCIL) wholly owned subsidiary Grid Conductors has reportedly proposed to establish an aluminium and aluminium alloy conductor unit in Odisha, committing an investment of Rs 127.35 crore.

The aluminium conductor unit would come up at the aluminium downstream park at Angul being developed jointly by National Aluminium Company (Nalco) and state owned Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco).

The aluminium conductor unit would have a capacity of 60,000 tonne per annum. It will make use of molten aluminium to be supplied to the downstream units coming up at the Angul aluminium park.
