Godrej Properties strengthens on establishing ‘Godrej Fund Management’

Godrej Properties is currently trading at Rs. 288.45, up by 6.45 points or 2.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 282.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 283.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 290.70 and Rs. 282.40 respectively. So far 32,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 374.50 on 20-Oct-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 231.55 on 30-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 290.70 and Rs. 271.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5,766.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.85% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.28% and 17.38% respectively.

Godrej Properties (GPL), one of India’s leading real estate developers, has created a dedicated real estate funds management business in India and Singapore - Godrej Fund Management (GFM). GFM has raised a $275 million pool of capital, Godrej Residential Investment Program II (GRIP II) with Dutch pension fund asset manager APG Asset Management N.V. (APG) as the lead investor.

GFM will advise GRIP II investors on investments into a residential development platform with GPL in India. GRIP II is a follow on to the $200 million residential development platform GPL had set up with an APG led investor consortium in 2012. GPL will hold a 20% stake in GRIP II. Karan Bolaria has been appointed to head GFM and will be responsible for managing both series of the residential investment programs as well as any future strategies that GFM will undertake.

APG and GPL pioneered the joint venture approach in the Indian private real estate market in 2012 with GRIP I, a structure that has been followed by other foreign institutional investors and Indian developers since.
