Maruti rolls out new version of A-Star

The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) introduced a new variant of its compact car A-Star, priced between Rs 3.67 lakh and Rs 4.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The retail sales of the new 'spiced-up' A-Star will start from January 27. Based on the current price list available on the company's website, the new variant will be costlier on average by about Rs 1,000. The smart modifications in the spiced-up A-star are in line with customer feedback and seek to enhance the overall look, feel and comfort of the buyers. In the refreshed A-Star, the company has revamped the interiors and added new colours to the offering. Besides, a new top-end variant, ZXi, has also been introduced.

                                                                                                                  

 Earlier, the company had rolled out the automatic version of the A-Star and currently it accounts for almost one third of the model's total sales. The car is MSI's Japanese parent Suzuki's fifth global model and it manufactured only at Manesar in India. MSI so sold a total of 3.81 lakh units of A-Star, which is the flagship export model of the company. The company has exported over 2.81 lakh units so far to over 130 countries, primarily to the European markets such as the Netherlands, Italy, the UK, Spain and Germany. Other markets that have also contributed the car include Australia and South Africa.
