Halonix to continue with General Lighting business

Halonix has decided not to sell or transfer its General Lighting business and continue both Automotive and General Lighting businesses as two separate and distinct lines of business. The company has decided to continue both business as a Strategic Business units to avail economies of scale and synergies between the two. The decision was taken at its board meeting held on May 20, 2011.

Earlier, the company had decided to sell and transfer its General Lighting business and has received board approval for the same on August 26, 2010.

During the year 2010-11, the company acquired 100% shareholding of International Lamps Holding Company S.A (ILHC) and through ILHC, two downstream subsidiaries namely Luxlite Lamps Sarl in Luxembourg and Trifa Lamps GmbH. The board of directors of the company has passed a resolution on May 20, 2011 whereby this acquisition of overseas business by International Lamps Holding Company S.A (ILHC) and its subsidiaries has been called off since the transaction has not been finished yet in terms of the agreements signed.

Halonix is counted amongst the most preferred manufacturers and suppliers of compact fluorescent lamps for general lighting and halogen lamps for the automotive sector.
