Bajaj Auto slips on reporting 2% fall in April sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2482.00, down by 2.60 points or 0.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 2484.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2486.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2520.00 and Rs. 2450.00 respectively. So far 5953 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2655.00 on 23-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1913.80 on 30-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2581.30 and Rs. 2450.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 71574.93 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.30 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.97 % and 24.73 % respectively.

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered fall of 2% in total sales to 330,109 units in April 2016 against 336,274 units in April 2015. The sales of the motorcycles increased by 2% and stood at 2,92,898 units in the month under review against 2,85,791 units in April 2015. Moreover, the company has reported 24% fall in Commercial Vehicles sales, which stood at 38,211 units as compared to 50,483 units in month of June 2014. The company’s total exports out of the above stood at 1,03,976 units, a fall of 36% as compared to 1,61,598 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
