Jindal Steel & Power falls on reporting consolidated net loss of Rs 371.34 crore in Q4

Jindal Steel & Power is currently trading at Rs. 65.25, down by 1.35 points or 2.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 66.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 65.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 68.10 and Rs. 65.00 respectively. So far 13,34,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 148.30 on 06-May-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 48.20 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 74.95 and Rs. 65.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5,969.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.89%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.08% and 17.02% respectively.

The company has posted a net loss at Rs 145.83 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to net loss Rs 234.63 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 3.16% at Rs 3461.84 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 3355.84 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

On consolidated basis, the company has posted a net loss after taxes, minority interest and share of loss of associates of at Rs 371.34 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to net loss Rs 519.30 crore for the corresponding quarter in the FY15. However, total income of the company increased by 8.55% at Rs 4978.78 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4586.42 crore for the same quarter ended previous year.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company has posted a net loss at Rs 1018.88 crore as compared to net loss Rs 310.58 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company decreased 5.17% at Rs 12776.60 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 13473.42 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.  

For the year ended March 31, 2016, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a net loss after taxes, minority interest and share of loss of associates at Rs 1902.00 crore as compared to net loss Rs 1278.12 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company has decreased by 5.28% at Rs 18589.82 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 19626.27 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.
