Cummins India to close generator assembly plant in Pune

Cummins India (CIL) has confirmed that the proposal for closure of the generator assembly plant at Pirangut, Pune, is under consideration. The low-kVA gensets for the domestic market being assembled at the Pirangut plant will be outsourced for contract manufacturing and will be sold through CIL to better manage its operating costs.

Comprising of four business units - Industrial Engine, Power Generation, Distribution, and Automotive, Cummins India Limited is also the largest entity of the Cummins Group in India.
